Earl Lee April 11, 2023 You are here: Home / Latest Stories / Feature / The Philippines’ Most Inquired-For Cars in Q1 2023 The Philippines’ Most Inquired-For Cars As we wrap up the first quarter of 2023, we’ve witnessed the launch of several new models, and a select few have captured the market’s attention. Here are the 40 most inquired-for cars in the Philippines, based on data from AutoDeal.com.ph. Our ranking reflects the percentage of total inquiries each model received compared to the overall market. We were pleasantly surprised to see several brands stepping up to the plate, becoming top performers in their respective categories and the market as a whole.
Ford Ranger (3.20%) Starting at the top spot, the Ford Ranger has captured 3.2 percent of all site traffic to the inquiry button. With a new model recently introduced in the country, it’s no surprise that the Ranger is drawing significant attention from Filipino car buyers. Previously, the Ranger was already a strong contender, offering some of the best features in its segment. Now, with its updated design, it’s no wonder the Ranger has claimed the number one position. Toyota Hilux (2.98%) Following closely behind the Ranger is its long-time rival, the Toyota Hilux. Toyota has always been a dominant force in the ladder-frame pickup truck segment, and the Hilux’s legendary reputation continues to hold strong. Filipinos recognize the model’s durability and robust nature, and investing in this nameplate guarantees a host of benefits, including a significant number of inquiries. Up to 2.98 percent of all our inquiries were for the Hilux on AutoDeal. Nissan Navara (2.71%) Next up, we have another pickup truck, making it three in a row for the segment. The Nissan Navara is a long-time market favorite, with 2.71 percent of inquiries directed to this model. It’s unsurprising to see the Navara on this list in third place overall for the first quarter of 2023. Its coil-sprung rear suspension offers a more comfortable ride compared to other workhorses, earning the interest of Filipino car buyers. Toyota Raize (2.64%) Moving into the realm of crossovers, the Toyota Raize claims the fourth spot. This compact crossover offers utility in a small, lightweight package. Its impressive ground clearance allows it to navigate bumps and potholes with ease, while the Toyota badge ensures reliability on even the longest journeys. A total of 2.64 percent of all inquiries on the Toyota Raize’s page. Ford Everest (2.63%) Not far behind the little crossover, we find the Ford Everest, the SUV sibling of the Ranger. Separated by just a hundredth of a percent, the Everest showcases its new design in fifth place. The Everest was beginning to lag behind its midsize rivals, but Ford has rectified this with a striking new design that has captured consumer attention. With 2.63 percent of inquiries, the Everest demonstrates the success of Ford’s latest offerings. Mitsubishi Xpander (2.35%) The most popular MPV on our list, the Mitsubishi Xpander, was once a dominant force in the market and continues to be a strong contender. In sixth place, the Xpander has garnered 2.35 percent of all our inquiries. Following a significant update, the Xpander sports a fresh look to compete with its rivals, and so far, it’s performing admirably. The Xpander’s presence on this list makes it the most popular MPV in the country for the first quarter of the year. Toyota Vios (2.09%) The most popular sedan on AutoDeal is the Toyota Vios. It comes as no surprise that Toyota’s subcompact sedan makes this list, with 2.09 percent of all inquiries. This speaks volumes about the model’s enduring popularity. You’ve undoubtedly seen a Toyota Vios on the road, and its continued presence in the top rankings, even amidst numerous popular nameplates, highlights its lasting appeal to Filipino car buyers. Honda BR-V (1.99%) In eighth place, the Honda BR-V overtakes other MPV models, positioning itself just behind the top-ranked MPV. The BR-V received an update last year, keeping consumers engaged. This seven-seater offers impressive power and torque figures compared to its rivals and maintains the signature Honda driving feel that many have come to appreciate. As a versatile option for various needs, the BR-V serves as an excellent alternative to the top pick, the Xpander. With 1.99% of all inquiries, it secures its spot on this list. Ford Territory (1.92%)
The first compact crossover on our list is another Ford model, the Territory. The Territory made its mark in the market upon its introduction in 2020. Even after three years and with a highly anticipated update in the second quarter of 2023, the Territory still commands 1.92 percent of our inquiries. Its compelling value proposition appeals to Filipino buyers seeking a reputable brand with substantial benefits. Currently in ninth place, we anticipate the Territory to climb the rankings in the second quarter of 2023. Suzuki Ertiga (1.87%) Rounding out the triple threat in the seven-seater MPV category and closing the top 10 is the Suzuki Ertiga, with 1.87 percent of our inquiries. The model has long been a strong alternative for consumers seeking a robust and reliable seven-seater. Now equipped with a mild-hybrid system, the Ertiga has evolved from being a more affordable option to a vehicle that delivers exceptional value for a similar price to its competitors. Nissan Terra (1.76%) For the 11th spot, the Nissan Terra has emerged as a prime choice for consumers looking to purchase a midsize SUV. The Terra has carved out its niche in the highly competitive midsize SUV segment, despite its later entry compared to other competitors. While the first-generation Terra was a bit late to the party, the second-generation model is a worthy successor that we consider one of the best in its class. Its updated interior and exterior, along with its impressive features and luxurious amenities, are sure to impress. The Terra achieved 1.76 percent of all inquiries in the first quarter of the year. Toyota Avanza (1.73%) Another seven-seater making the list is the Toyota Avanza, currently in 12th place. This model was recently updated with a new chassis and drivetrain, giving it a more crossover-like build and a more refined ride while maintaining its predecessor’s robustness. Equipped with essential features and priced affordably for most consumers, it also carries the reputable Toyota badge. In terms of percentages, the Avanza accounted for 1.73 percent of all inquiries. Toyota Hiace (1.62%) The Toyota Hiace is another Filipino favorite, dominating its segment in nearly every metric. As the best-selling nameplate in its category, the Hiace spans a wide range of variants, including luxury options like the Super Grandia. The standard Grandia models likely account for the bulk of inquiries, totaling 1.62 percent of our site’s inquiries, and we’re pleased to see the model secure the 13th spot. Toyota Wigo (1.53%) The smaller sibling to the Raize, the Toyota Wigo, makes its debut on this list at 14th place. This compact hatchback is a consistent market presence due to its affordable price, brand reputation, and the overall appeal of the Wigo as a reliable and practical city car. While small, the Wigo is capable of tackling longer journeys. With 1.53 percent of our inquiries, this pint-sized model is the most popular small hatchback in the country for the first quarter of the year. Mitsubishi Xpander Cross (1.50%) While the regular Xpander holds the top spot for MPVs, its more stylish counterpart, the Xpander Cross, also makes an impressive appearance at 15th place. The higher price point for this model naturally limits its accessibility to some buyers, but this hasn’t deterred inquiries. We believe people are curious about the added benefits of the Xpander Cross, which is reflected in the 1.50 percent of inquiries directed to this model. Toyota Veloz (1.48%) There seems to be a trend toward slightly more premium offerings in the seven-seater segment. The Avanza’s more affordable sibling, the Veloz, is naturally a more popular choice. However, the Veloz isn’t far behind, garnering 1.48 percent of all our inquiries and securing the 16th position on our list. With its more upscale trimmings and striking front fascia, it’s no surprise that the Veloz attracts a significant portion of our site traffic, alongside the Avanza. Suzuki Jimny (1.45%)
